Ravagers

Monster Suggestions - By Episode

To start off we'll give a quick episode by episode breakdown of some good ravagers that you should recruit to best make it through .

  • Episode 2 - Zwerg Scandroid or Garchimacera: This really comes down to a matter of preference. Do you want to spend Mechanical or Biological monster materials to develop your first Ravager? Both of these monsters are decent options. Zwerg has a higher Strength stat and Garchimacera has a higher magic stat. Both are Well-Grown and have an erratic development path. However, Garchimacera is a better long-term investment as he ends up with higher stats, reaches a higher level, is cheaper to develop, and maxes out at third grade materials rather than second grade.
  • Episode 3.1 - Albino Lobo: The Albino Lobo is one of the most well-rounded Ravagers in the game and is available from Bresha Ruins 005AF upon beating Atlas. Unfortunately, he can be a huge pain to catch. He is a rare opponent, dangerous to low-level parties, and has a 15% capture rate. He only appears in one of potentially 10 fights. In one play-through he was caught easily and in another play-through he was nigh impossible to catch. However, should you catch him he will be a staple party member worth taking to the end of his development.
  • Episode 3.2 - Buccaboo, Cloudburst, Debris & Blue Chocobo: If you're looking for an Early Peaker to tide yourself over you can hunt down the Buccaboo in the Archylte Steppe. You'll already be wanting to fight Buccaboos to get grade 3 Biological Potent materials so you're quite likely to pick one up. You can also acquire and pass on the Gilfinder II passive to boost your Gil gains. It also natively possesses both Strength & Magic +20% which can be infused into a more powerful Ravager. If you're not as concerned about cost, you can instead opt for picking up the Buccaboo Ace, which has all the nice Buccaboo passives as well as Resist Magic +15% and Role Resonance. However, in the Archylte Steppe you also have access to arguably the best Ravager in the entire game - the Cloudburst. It is found in the trench separating the Plains of Eternity from the Stonestump Wasteland. Although you'll want to supplement its magic arsenal (it comes with Ice and Wind elemental attacks) you will have access to Friendly Fire, one of the best Feral Links in the entire game (buffs galore that you should put on immediately before a stagger against tough enemies). It also boasts a huge magic stat. Another Bomb class alternative to the Cloudburst is the Debris, found in Grave Ridge. It comes with the elemental opposites of the Cloudburst - Fire and LIghtning. You may wish to feed it to your Cloudburst to round out the more powerful Ravager. If you're in for a long-term investment you can hunt down the Blue Chocobo, found in the Clearwater Marshes area. Like the Cloudburst it comes with Ice and Wind elemental spells and has a nice bunch of passives natively. It can be a potent Ravager once you've leveled it up and filled out its attack arsenal. If you're building a Chocobo Paradigm Pack this will be your choice for the long-term
  • Episode 4 - Pick One: After the slew of Ravagers made available to you in the Archylte Steppe its in your best interests to pick one and focus on it. There aren't any new remarkable Ravager finds in Episode 4.
  • Episode 5 / Final Episode - Apotamkin: This little Ravager can be found in A Dying World and is one of the more well-rounded choices in the game. It has a very slim capture rate (2%) but it has access to all of the tier 1 and 2 spells as well as the "strike" abilities (which are non-infusible). Its stats don't match up to the powerhouses like Cloudburst or the Blue Chocobo, but if you find yourself in need of elemental inbued physical attacks the Apotamkin is a good choice. It also learns Item Collector (infusible) and Gilfinder II (non-infusible) that can increase your post-battle rewards.
  • Post-Game - Pick One: There really are no more major additions to your pool of Ravagers in post-game play. We recommend picking one of the earlier available monsters and beefing it up to take on the difficult post-battle quests. Again, the Cloudburst is arguably the best Ravager in the game stat-wise and if you supplement its abilities it will be even more potent. And its Friendly Fire Feral Link is a huge boon when you're up against some of the nasty bosses that become available in post-story. However, if you're focusing on a Chocobo Paradigm Pack and you're sacrifcing your Chichu and Nanochu for the Pack Mentality ability then the Blue Chocobo should be your choice Ravager.

Monster List

This table gives you a breakdown of every monster ravager in the game. Note that this table is a work in progress and abilities will be filled in as soon as we're able. In addition to rough stats (assuming you use all Potent materials) we'll also tell you what grade of materials caps a monsters growth. We've also included sections for all the passive and active abilities that each monster can acquire. Any red abilities are locked abilities and cannot be passed on through infusion.
