Lindblum

After the crew arrives in Lindblum and you have control of Zidane again follow the Minister out the bottom exit. This will instigate a long scene. After talking to Cid Zidane will decide to take lunch in the city. He meets up with an old friend, Freya. After Dagger’s long discussion with Cid, Vivi and Zidane will spend the night at the city Inn.

Business District

Items: High Potion, Echo Screen, Tent, Leather Plate, Silver Gloves

Zidane will wake up in the Business District. Go into the next room. Here you’ll talk to Moodon the moogle – there will be a letter for Zidane.

Downstairs in the corner by the table is 163 gil. You an also examine the bird statue here. Head outside and you’ll be in the main street of business district. Across the street is the aircab station but you’ll want to explore this district before heading there. To the south is the Hunter’s Gate which leads out of Lindblum. Head North to most of the City’s businesses.

Directly to the North on this screen is Card Freak Gon’s house. You can get a high potion and echo screen from the chests upstairs. Now, back on the previous screen, you’ll want to go out the exit in the upper left. Here you’ll find Lindblum’s church. Before entering search around the trees for a tent. Once inside climb the ladder at the front and go across the platform to find a Leather Plate.

Next, go back to the square and take the right exit. Here are the town shops. From left to right are the synthesis shop, item shop, and weapons shop. You can pick up some Silver Gloves at the back of the synthesis shop. Other than that you’ll have to use some hard earned cash to upgrade your weapons and armor. When you’re done here go back to the aircab station and go to the Industrial district.

Industrial District

Items: Leather Wrist, Bronze Vest, Steepled Hat. Cards: Mimic card.

When you get to this district proceed up the stairs. Around the rail to your left is a leather wrist. Behind the statue talk to Marolo. Answer his question with “In the Back.” It’s best to agree with him on this. Now head up to the next area. To the left here is the Doom Pub where you met Freya earlier. Search outside for a Bronze Vest. Up further is Ludruff’s house where you can get a Mimic Card and a Steepled Hat. Now it’s time to move on to the Theatre district.

Theatre District

Items: Ore, Mini-Burmecia, Autograph, Moogle Suit

Be aware that there are many card game players in this District. Be sure to play a game or two. Head out of the station and into the district. On this screen search in the bushes to find 127 gil.

The house on the right (bottom) belongs to the artist Michael. The chest here has an ore in it.

Go down the stairs and into the door here. Welcome to the Tantalus hideout. After a long scene you’ll get control of Zidane again. Raid all the chests here for a good deal of gil. Don’t forget to pick up the Mini-Burmecia on the bed.

When you’re done here head down to the theatre and talk to the groupies. After the scene with Lowell follow the giant moogle (Lowell). He’s hiding in Michael’s house. Talk to him to get his autograph. Across from him you’ll find the moogle suit. When you’re ready head back to the aircab and take it to Lindblum Castle.

Lindblum Castle

Items: Glass Armlet, Ether

Go to the fountain area where you were before boarding the elevator. Go up the stairs in this area. The room to the left is where you saw Dagger before. Get all the chests here for a glass armlet and an ether. Talk to Mogki. You should have a letter for him from Kumop. He’ll also have a letter for you to Atla.

Return to the fountain area and you should hear Dagger singing. Try to go to the elevator and you’ll be stopped. Return to the area outside the guest room and go down these stairs. Talk to the sleeping guard on the left to “borrow” his armor. Now you can use the lift. When you get to the upper level go all the way up the stairs to your left (you’ll go through a couple screens). After talking to Dagger you can use the telescope to mark areas of interest on your world map.

After Zidane makes a move on Dagger you’ll get an explanation of the Festival of the Hunt. You’ll want to save with Mogki before going to the aircab and starting. The prizes for the winner include:

A Theater Ship Card (if Vivi wins)
A Coral Ring (if Freya wins)
5,000 gil (if Zidane wins)
Also, the winner will get the Master Hunter award.

Monster Points are as follows:
Mu – 12 points
Sparrow – 13 points
Fang – 19 points
Zaghnol – 80 points

Now, you’ll start out in the theater district. Get the Mu chasing someone and the Sparrow flying around. Go to the next area but ignore the Sparrow. Go all the way down to the theatre and stand by the barrels. Fight the Fang.

Now go to the Industrial District. Get the Fang by the statue and the Mu on the stairs. Next get the Mu by the pub (you’ll have to try and enter the pub) and then the Mu in the upper area.

Lastly go to the Business District. There are two possible ways to win. Both of them require that you get the Sparrow by the Inn and the Mu by the stairs on the right. Go to the next area and get the Fang opposite the pickle stand.

Option 1: Go to the right area and Freya will join you to tackle the huge Zaghnol. You’ll get the 80 points to win.

Option 2: Go to the left and fight another Fang. Kill the Sparrow by the church. Now go back to the square and save Vivi from another Fang.

After the dramatic finish to the Festival you’ll need to head down to the Dragon Gate on the base level of the castle. Be sure to stock up on items before leaving – remember you won’t have Dagger to heal you. You can also save with Moonte the moogle. Once you leave the Dragon gate your main goal will be to enter Gizamaluke’s grotto to the north, but along your way it’s advisable to stop into the Qu’s Marsh and the somewhat out of the way Chocobo Forest.
