Gizamaluke's Grotto and Grand CitadelGizamaluke's GrottoItems: Gizamaluke Bell, Holy Bell, Bronze Vest, Mythril Gloves, Magus Hat. After leaving Qu’s marsh follow the roots in the ground and you’ll come to Gizamaluke’s Grotto. After the short scene with Freya you’ll enter the Grotto. In this first area head to the right and talk to the soldier here. You’ll learn that Black Mages are the ones who’ve attacked here. Unfortunately you can’t save this man, but he will give you a bell before he passes away so you can open the door up the path to the left. In the next area you’ll be immediately attacked by a pair of black mages commanded by Zorn & Thorn. After you kill the mages the jesters will run away. Go under the bridge and fight another set of black mages. You’ll receive another Gizamaluke Bell when you defeat them. Use your bell on the upper left door and take the path around. At the far left of the screen is a Bronze Vest. Now go across to the right. Speak to this soldier and he’ll give you another bell. Go back to the main area and use your bell on the bottom right door. Enter this new area and follow the staircase around. Be sure to check for items along the path. You should find Mythril Gloves and a Magus Hat. Beware of the Lamia enemy in this area. Quina can learn the Lev3-Def-less ability from this creature, but it’s also very strong. It casts Might and Cure on itself and will confuse your party members. When you come to the fallen bell in the middle you’ll find that a moogle has been trapped inside. Give Mogmi your Kupo Nut to rescue her husband. After the scene take the bell from the chest inside the bell. Now follow the moogle couple through the door to the right. Here you can talk with both moogles. Moguta will ask you if you like Kupo Nuts. Agree with him and he will help you later. Talk with Mogmi and you’ll be able to save and use a tent. She’ll also have a letter from Moodon to read. Make sure you don’t climb the vines in here. They’ll take you to an area full of Grand Dragons, a creature far too difficult to fight right now. When you feel you’re equipped to tackle the upcoming boss head back out the door. Moguta will stop you and give you a Holy Bell so you can unlock the last door. Go out and around the bell to the other door. Open it and face Master Gizamaluke, who’s gone mad. Gizamaluke
To best avoid the majority of Gizamaluke’s attacks use Zidane’s Soul Blade ability to blind him. Use Vivi’s Thunder spell and have Freya jump. If you’ve been keeping up with Quina’s abilities use either Mighty Guard or Vanish on your party. If Quina’s HP gets low use Pumpkin Head, which deals damage equal to the difference between Quina’s max HP and current HP. Also, don’t forget to steal!! Make sure you get the Ice Staff so you’ll get the Blizara upgrade for Vivi. Grant CitadelItems: Multina Racket, Gate Pass When you have control of Steiner run to the top of the stairs to initiate a conversation. Once inside Steiner picks an alleyway to let Dagger out of the pickle bag. However, there are bystanders you’ll need to move first. But before you do that search to the left of the entrance for a Multina Racket, a powerful upgrade for Dagger. There’s also a ladder at the back that you can’t climb at this point in the game. To move mary simply console her. To move the Chief Engineer you’ll need to speak with him. Note the worker whose boss is the Engineer. Go and talk to him. Now go back and talk with the Engineer. He will move, leaving the alley free. You’ll be stopped momentarily as the guard gives you a gate pass. Now in control of Dagger grab a potion from the chest to the left and talk with the moogle Grimo. He’ll have a letter for Nazna he’d like you to deliver. You can also stock up at the medicine shop. Make sure your party members are fully equipped with any new weapons or armor you might have. When you’re ready board the cable car.
