Yaschas Massif - 01XAF

Fragments

If you've followed our guidelines you should be able to accomplish all but one of the fragment quests on this trip. The fourth quest, a Cie'th battle, is out of your league at this point in the game.

Also of note, you can get the item needed to finish the Amur's Sphere quest (an old battery) in this location. See the fragment notes from Yaschas Massif 010AF for details.

1. Orb of Clotho - (Req. - complete all conversations with Hope) Track down Marlow in the Archaeopolis. He's looking for a Stone Tablet. If you followed our advice in 010AF you should have this and be able to hand it right over for the fragment and 300 CP.
2. Sword of Lachesis - (Req. - complete all conversations with Hope; Moogle Throw) If you had Moogle Throw when you were in YM 010AF and picked up the Fruit of Fenrir on top of the "secret" location then this quest won't cost you more than a Gysahl Green. Jump on a chocobo and go to that secret location. Position yourself at the top of the stair-like stones that head downward and past the raised area. When you get to the light post jump and hold B/Circle to make the leap up to the platform. Speak to Bridget, who needs a flower that only blooms in an eclipse. Luckily, you should have such a thing and you can hand it right over for the fragment and 300 CP.
3. Mirror of Atropos - (Req. - complete all coversations with Hope; Moogle Throw) Lester, this quest-giver, is found wandering around the main square in the Archaeopolis. Speak with him to undertake a quest for three "fallen stars". The Emerald Crystal is found in a hole in the ground in the open area near the Wild Artefact gate. Toss Mog in to get the treasure box. The Onyx Crystal is found in a Moogle Hunt box just south of the blocked off area in the middle of the map. The Ivory Crystal is in a box underneath the metal walkway close to the south gate. Return all three to Lester for the fragment and 300 CP.
4. Gorgyra Fragment - This quest pits you against a difficult Cie'th foe who appears in the clearing at the south end of the map. Its quest giver, Duncan, can be found in the Archaeopolis very near the box with the Old Battery in it (behind a stack of crates). Should you find yourself speaking to Duncan before you're ready to take on this quest you might want to reconsider accepting it, even if you're not planning on defeating it until later. Once you accept the quest the Cie'th will automatically appear on the map and you'll have to do some sneaky evading to avoid an unwanted confrontation. With that in mind, you should probably avoid this confrontation until you have Serah and Noel's main roles in the 50-60 level range. Strategy to follow soon.
