Downloadable Content
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is the first game in the series to offer downloadable content. These items, including weapons, costumes, Coliseum battles, and extra scenarios, can be purchased through the Playstation Network or XBox Live Marketplace. Some items were also offered as incentives when purchasing from certail retailers.
Weapons
There area a few weapons for both Serah and Noel offered. And at a very cheap price at that ($.99 PSN/ 80 MSP). These weapons also include free upgrades as you get further in the game. The original and all upgrades can be picked up at Chocolina's shop.
Serah
- Seraphic Wing ($.99 PSN/ 80 MSP) - A new weapon for Serah. This angelic weapon restores the wielder's HP as it damages an enemy. In-game upgrades include: "Seraphic Wing Sigma", "Seraphic Wing Omega", & "Seraphic Wing Infinity".
- Genji Bow ($.99 PSN/ 80 MSP - Free w/ preorder at Gamestop [PowerUp Rewards members]) - A new weapon for Serah. A weapon symbolizing the honor of a distinguished line of warriors. Increases ATB gauge recharge rate. In-game upgrades include: "Geni Bow Kiku", "Genji Bow Sakura", and "True Genji Bow".
- Azrael (80 MSP) - XBox 360 Exclusive. A new weapon for Serah. Named after the angel of souls, and said to hold the power to alter fate. Increases chain bonuses. In-game upgrades include "Azrael Sigma", "Azrael Omega", & "Azrael Infinity".
Noel
- Catastrophe Blade ($.99 PSN/ 80 MSP) - A new weapon for Noel. This weapon allows the wielder to unleash a rapid flurry of blows. Increases ATB gauge recharge rate. In-game upgrades include "Catastrophe Blade Sigma", "Catastrophe Blade Omega", & "Catastrophe Blade Infinity".
- Muramasa ($.99 PSN/ 80 MSP) - A new weapon for Noel. A weapon of fey power feared as the blade that will strike down Time's master. Boosts chain bonus. In-game upgrades include "Muramasa Kuku", "Muramasa Sakura", and "True Muramasa".
Costumes
Costumes in FFXIII-2 are purely cosmetic. They will replace the character's regular costume in most in-game cut-scenes and during gameplay. However, in some situations, such as Pre-rendered Cinematics, they will not.
Serah
- Summoner's Garb ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP - Free w/ preorder at GameStop or EBGames) - New outfit for Serah. This ethnic costume from another world is born from the consciousness of time-traveling Serah and the soul of the summoner from a parallel universe.
- Beachwear ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - A new outfit for Serah. The perfect costume for soaking u the sun and hanging out with friends on the shores of New Bodhum.
- N7 Armor ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - A new outfit for Serah, based on the armor worn by Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 3.
- Style & Steel ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - A new outfit for Serah. This costume, designed by popular Japanese idol group member Yuko Oshima, was chosen by fan vote.
- White Mage
($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - A new outfit for Serah, based on the white mage from the FINAL FANTASY series.
Noel
- Battle Attire ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - New outfit for Noel in "FINAL FANTASY XIII-2". A battle attire in gold and crimson which wraps you in the leather of some strong beasts. Only for the chosen warriors.
- Spacetime Guardian ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - A new outfit for Noel. This garb is said to be a gift of the goddess to those who fight to correct the animalies of time.
- N7 Armor ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - A new outfit for Noel, based on the armor worn by Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 3.
- Assassin's Creed ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - A new out for Noel, based on the costume worn by Ezio Auditore.
- Black Mage ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - A new outfit for Noel, based on the black mage from the FINAL FANTASY series.
Mog
- A Wondrous Wardrobe ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - A collection of new outfits for Mog, complete with 16 different costumes.
Coliseum Battles
All downloaded battles are fought in Coliseum ???AF available starting in episode 2. For strategies of these various boss fights check out the Coliseum Page. Upon defeat these opponents have a chance to drop a monster crystal. However, this drop is NOT guaranteed and it may take several attempts to acquire their crystal. Also, in battles with two opponents you will only get one monster crystal at a time.
- Omega - Bringer of the End ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP - Free w/ preorder at Amazon.com) - Face the dreaded Omega in the Coliseum! Use the crystals of defeated foes to summon them as allies in battle. The Coliseum appears in the Historia Crux (available from Episode 2 onwards). To access this content, enter the Historia Crux, select "Coliseum ???AF" and then select the "Bringer of the End" mission. Omega is a Commando.
- Lightning & Amodar - Operation XIII-2 ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - Face Lightning and Lieutenant Amodar in the Coliseum! Use the crystals of defeated foes to summon them as allies in battle. The Coliseum appears in the Historia Crux (available from Episode 2 onwards). To access this content, enter the Historia Crux and select "Coliseum ???AF". Lightning is a Ravager and Amodar is a Commando.
- Jihl Nabaat - A Study in Elegant Death ($2.99 PSN/ 240 MSP) - Face PSICOM officer Jihl Nabaat in the Coliseum! Use the crystals of defeated foes to summon them as allies in battle. The Coliseum appears in the Historia Crux (available from Chapter 2 onwards). To access this content enter the Historia Crux and select "Coliseum ???AF".Nabaat is a Saboteur.
- Ultros & Typhon - Uninvited Invertebrae ($3.99 PSN/ 320 MSP) - Face the creepy Ultros and his guardian Typhon in the Coliseum! Use the crystals of defeated foes to summon them as allies in battle. The Coliseum appears in the Historia Crux (available from Episode 2 onwards). To access this content, enter the Historia Crux and select "Coliseum ???AF". Ultros is a Synergist and Typhon is a Commando.
- Gilgamesh - Clash on the Big Bridge ($3.99 PSN/ 320 MSP) - Face the void-traveler Gilgamesh in the Coliseum! Use the crystals of defeated foes to summon them as allies in battle. The Coliseum appears in the Historia Crux (available from Episode 2 onwards). To access this content, enter the Historia Crux and select "Coliseum ???AF" . Gilgamesh is a Commando.
- PuPu - Take Me to Your Leader ($1.99 PSN/ 160 MSP) - Face the out-of-this world PuPu in the Coliseum! Use the crystals of defeated foes to summon them as allies in battle. The Coliseum appears in the Historia Crux (available from Episode 2 onwards). To access this content, enter the Historia Crux and select "Coliseum ???AF". PuPu is a Medic.
Scenarios
In addition to the other DLC, FFXIII-2 offers 3 extra scenarios that add new story and gameplay surrounding familiar characters and events that tie them to the main story.
- Sazh's Story: Heads or Tails? ($4.99 PSN/ 400 MSP) - Unlock new casino content and a new episode featuring Sazh in Serendipity. Complete the episode to gain Sazh as a battle ally. This DLC adds two new card games in Serendipity - Chronobind & Serendipity Poker. Upon completion you get Sazh as a Synergist.
- Snow's Story: Perpetual Battlefield ($3.99 PSN/ 320 MSP) - Get ready for anew episode in the Coliseum! Snow is back and ready to rumble. Win battles and get your hands on the crystal to unlock Snow as a party member! To access this content, enter the Historia Crux (available from Chapter 2 onwards) and select Coliseum ???AF. This DLC features events with Snow in the Void Beyond and in two battles. After beating the episodes you can fight to obtain monstery crystals for Snow as a Sentinel and Valfodr as a Ravager.
- Another Beginning - Lightning's Story: Requiem of the Goddess ($4.99 PSN/ 400 MSP) - Get ready for a new episode in Valalla! complete LIghtning's exciting story under certain conditions to unlock the fierce warrior cloaked in divine armor as a party member. To access this content enter the Historia Crux (available from Chapter 2 onwards) and select Valhalla ???. This combat centered DLC features Lightning in her fight against Caius Ballad. Upon completion you gain Lightning as a Commando.
