Calibrating the TowersNote: It is not necessary to successfully calibrate every tower. Attempting all of them and calibrating atleast 5 successfully will get you the Samurai's Honor Garment Grid. The Tower Calibration mini-game is offered only in chapters 2 and 3. Each tower generates a random set of commands that must be entered in one of 3 different ways. In each, you are allowed only 2 misses. If you miss a 3rd you will have to start over. Rikku's Towers Tower #'s: 1,4, and 7 Rikku's towers are the simplest of the three types. In this one a command button will flash upon the screen and you must press it within a limited amount of time. Take too long and it will be counted as a miss. At around 13 hits the speed of the flash will increase and the time you have to push the button will decrease. Tower 1 will have the commands flash directly above Rikku's head but 4 and 7 will flash all over the screen in 13 locations randomely. Also, the commands used for the towers increases from tower to tower. Tower 1 uses: Circle, X, and Square while tower 4 adds: the Direction pad. Finally, tower 7 adds the L1 and R1 as well. Tower 7 also flashes two commands at a time that must be pressed together in order to input it correctly. Paine's Towers Tower #'s: 2,5, and 8 Paine's towers involve seeing 3 commands fall from the top of the screen downward. At about the halfway mark one will flash and you will have only a few moments to press the button corresponding with the command that flashed. The speed of the falling commands increases as you progress up the successful hits. Tower 1 the speed doubles at 26+. In the beginning this tower will start off with just the Circle, X, Triangle, Square but at 11 it adds up and down and at 16 left and right. The final stretch at double speed returns to just Circle, X, Square and Triangle though. Tower 5 the speed doubles at 16+ and then triples at 26+. Buttons begin at Circle, Square, Triangle, and X. At 6 the direction pad is added, at 11 L1 and R1 for the remainder of the tower. Tower 8 doubles and triples the same as tower 5. The commands start off with Circle, Triangle, Square, X, and the direction pad and at 6 adds L1 and R1 for the remainder of the tower. Yuna's Towers Tower #'s: 3,6,9, and 10 Yuna's Towers consist of a memory game. For the first part of each calibration during the Memory Phase you watch closely and memorize the commands and order in which to push them. After that you have a limited amount of time in the Input Phase to repeat the combination. The number of buttons increases the further hits you make. Tower 3 starts out with 2 commands to watch and enter until the 11th hit when it goes up to 3. It'll also go up to 4 at 26. The only buttons used in this tower are the Circle, X, Triangle, and Square. Tower 6's number of commands works the same as 3 but the Direction pad has been added. Tower 9 starts out the same but changes to 3 at 11 hits, 4 at 21 hits, and 5 at 26. Also, the L1 and R1 are added for this tower. Tower 10 is different and in a way one of the hardest. Instead of giving you the sequence to calibrate normally, you must watch and memorize the sequence and then repeat it back----only backwards this time. R2 and L2 have been added so you use every single button on this tower and also the number of commands increases up to 6 this time. 11 hits makes 3 in sequence, 16 makes 4, 21 to 5, and finally 26 brings 6. There is very little time given to input the commands so watch carefully and remember to go backwards when inputing. |
