Scene: Chapter 1

Location: Besaid

When I awoke this morning, I found myself alone. I had to go outside to find Lulu. She had a mission for me, I was to find Wakka.
I started by asking around town. I was very careful to avoid the item shop. You see, there is this verrrry expensive Besaid Key there that the more often I go and look at it the less chance I’ll have of it being there when I can afford it. It’s about 900,000 Gil, so it’s best if I keep away. Maybe the guy will get desperate later and sell it to me cheap, hehe.

Anyway, while searching for Wakka not everyone could help me out too much. The helpful ones were:
- man exiting furthest right house: he explained the island’s ciphers to me.
- lady near entrance to the town: she pointed me in the direction of the cave.
- Jassu: he told me how to find the first cipher.
- Datto: he talked about the 4th cipher.
- lady walking her dog: she mentioned the 2nd and 3rd cipher.


After investigating in the town, I headed for the beach to continue my search. On route, I located the four ciphers. The 1st was in front of the shrine at the top of the hill. In the ruins area, the 4th was located on the first pillar to the right.

Following the road I came to a bridge, but instead of crossing it I jumped down beside it to retrieve 2 chocobo wings from a chest. After crossing the bridge and making it into the crossroads, I found the entrance to the cave on the left. I couldn’t seem to get in yet, since I only knew half of the ciphers, so I continued on towards the beach.

At the beach, I climbed up on the ledge where I saw some kids playing. There seemed to be some ruins a few ledges up, so I climbed to take a look and found the 2nd cipher. Wandering around the right side of the ruin, I explored a grassy area I jumped down to and stumbled across a hidden cove! There were two chests, one had a hi-potion and the other had 1000 gil. Had to use the crates to make my way back to the beach, but I made my way back pretty okay.

Following the beach to the grassy rocks past the pier, I climbed up for the final cipher. The 3rd cipher!!! I was finally ready to enter the cave!!!

I found Wakka in the cave. We talked a lil bit but Paine kinda darted off into the cave, so the Gullwings were in action with a sphere in our sights! There was a dead end to the right, but there was another panel for more codes and I didn’t have a single clue as to what that was for, so we left that alone. We went left, instead, and left once more at the next fork. It lead us to a box with 2 potions in it. Obviously, we needed to take the other path, so we doubled back and hopped across the gorge leading to a save sphere. Well... we did find a sphere, but we also found its friend. There was a huge flame dragon just waiting for some company. We showed it a good time. ^^
