Walkthrough - Introduction

Kingdom Hearts 2, like its predecessor, runs fairly linear. There are occasional times when completing a world will open up two worlds but it's best to take them in order of level. This is how this walkthrough is organized. There are two worlds not listed in this walkthrough - Atlantica and 100 Acre Wood. For walkthrough information on them please refer to our Missions/Mini-Games section.

When you start the game you are given a difficulty option. There are some things to consider when making this choice. Kingdom Hearts 2 has a secret ending, like the first game. However, the difficulty level affects how you achieve this ending. In the Beginner difficulty it is impossible to get the secret ending. In Normal difficulty you can get the secret ending by completing EVERYTHING in Jimminy's Journal. You have to have a gold Mickey head next to everything in the journal. Keep in mind, this involves completing every mini-game or side-quest in the game - INCLUDING defeating Sephiroth. In Hard mode all you need to do is beat the game.
